If “Shakin’ With Rob Macon” sounds familiar to you, it’s because since 2010 I’ve been a candidate for the KPFK Local Station Board (LSB) and never succeeded. This election, I have 18 chances to get on the board. Since 2010, nearly 50 LSB members, four station managers, the same program director and management team have brought down one of the most unique and precious means for free speech. KPFK and Pacifica have a mission set forth by its founder Lewis Hill. It probably will never get accomplished. Besides the new GM, nobody at KPFK knows how to get the station out of debt, increase the listeners, conduct more successful fundrives and build KPFK back to full health. There are hundreds of thousands of well qualified people with the experience who can bring those king of results. I’m one of them. KPFK and Pacifica is a multi-million dollar operation that requires multi-million dollar ideas. “IT’S NOT A GAME!!”!! Since 2010 to 2015, five years is more than enough time to fix the problems, if you know what you’re doing. Now it’s up to the new ExIecutive Director, the new KPFK General Manager and the new KPFK LSB to unclog the KPFK/Pacifica drain, for a new KPFK/Pacifica. “IT’S NOT A GAME!!” It’s just that simple, either you know what you’re doing or you don’t. That’s why I need to get on this board….and it won’t take five years.

    Optional Questions

In what ways are the station moving in a positive direction, that you would want to continue or perhaps improve?

The station (KPFK) is moving in a positive direction by hiring a new General Manager, by starting a dialog for increasing the listeners and improving fundraising strategies.
